Reminisce and Run

Goldilocks has always meant a special celebration for the Filipino family.  As a kid, my siblings, cousins neighbours and I would look forward to a birthday party because it would mean a fancy cake, the yummy frosting and the oh so pretty flower sugar.  Our parents will sometimes wean as away from these potent sugars as the combination of other kids, games and candy can become a little bit too much to handle.  But, oh, how we loved birthday parties!

Goldilocks was also there for academic achievements such as Best in Reading or being part of the Top 10 in a grading period and of course, a graduation meant a possible two-layered cake which means more flowered candies.

With the advent of the other bakeshops, some fancier than the next, our beloved brand took a backseat as we tried the others.

But why is it that when everything began tasting the same, we longed for the simple mocha chiffon, the icing and the candied flowers?  We longed for what is comforting, and easy and simple. No fuss.  There’s no need. It’s a cake after all.

It has been 45 years that Goldilocks has been part of the Filipino lifestyle-young or old, then or now.  With the running bug in all of us nowadays, it was fitting to celebrate the same 45 years with a fun run.

On May 15, all roads will lead once again to Bonifacio Global City for the Goldilocks Fun Run  organized  by RunRio  (First leg of the Run Rio Series Manila).

Registration ports will be at : RUNNR Store,  R.O.X. , Toby’s SM Mall of Asia, Planet Sports Glorietta &Trinoma, The Athletes Foot Alabang Town Center & Robinsons Galleria and the Goldilocks Store in Shaw Boulevard. Registration Fees are as follows:  5K (P600), 10K (P600) and 21K (P750) distances.  Registration is open only until May 1, 2011.

The Fiesta-themed atmosphere on race day will be filled with games for the whole family. Reminisce your childhood with the brand that we all grew up in and Run.
